** Recruitment for the programme has now been concluded **

The OneZoo CDT offered  fully funded studentships, which included fees, stipends and a Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) of £8,250 to support their project and individual training needs. Each studentship  spans a 3.5-year (full time) or 7-year (part time) period.

Details on the student application and recruitment process for a OneZoo CDT studentship included:

Studentship applications submitted via the online application survey, involved 2 parts:

  • Part 1 is for the studentship as part of the OneZoo CDT and was submitted via the online survey.
  • If a student was selected for a project, they then also needed to apply for admission (Part 2) to the respective Institution by completing their institutional application process. Details for how to do this were communicated to successful applicants following the interview.

Studentships were open to UK Nationals and those with ‘Home Fees Status’ and International student applicants (including EU students) – however we were limited to 30% international students per annum by UKRI regulations. For applicants with overseas fee status and UK non-residents only: All institutions waived the fee difference between home and international studentships for non-UK applicants. International applicants needed to meet the English language requirements of the university by the start of the programme, which is at least 6.5 in IELTS or an acceptable equivalent.

After the application closing date, a panel shortlisted candidates on the basis of the application process.

  • Eligible studentship applications were forwarded to the supervisors of the chosen projects. Supervisors scored each shortlisted applicant based on a scoring system and nominate suitable applicants for their project.
  • Applicants expected to hear back from the OneZoo CDT regarding the outcome of their application at the end of April at the latest.
